Privacy.

What we hold, why we hold it, and what you can do about it.

Effective August 24, 2026

The short version.

DEEDS is built to be anonymous to the community and accountable to us. Other members see a handle. We hold the email behind it, and nothing more than we need.

We do not sell your information. We do not run ads. We do not build advertising profiles. There is no business model here that depends on knowing more about you.

What we collect.

Only what the service needs to work. This is the whole list.

Email address
Required. It is the door. We send a six digit code to it and that signs you in. We never store a password because there is not one.
Handle
Generated for you, not drawn from your name. This is what the community sees.
Profile details
Your self selected type, your bio if you write one, your reminder preference, and the organizations you create or join.
Your content
Deeds, posts, comments, studies, reading progress, photographs you upload, and notes you send to other members.
Rough location
Only if you tap Pin to the Deed Map. Your device gives a coordinate and we round it before storing, to roughly an eleven kilometre area. We never store your exact position and never track you in the background.
Activity
Reactions, follows, redeeds, invites, and campaign participation, because these are the counts the product is made of.
Phone number
Only if you choose to add one. It is optional and we do not require it.
Push subscription
Only if you turn on notifications from your device.
Technical
Your browser holds your session locally so you stay signed in. Our hosting providers keep ordinary server logs.

What we do not collect.

No real name. No date of birth. No address. No payment information, because nothing on DEEDS costs money. No advertising identifiers. No cross site tracking. No third party analytics or advertising pixels.

Who else sees it.

We use a small number of service providers to run DEEDS. They process data on our instructions and only for these purposes.

Supabase
Database, authentication, and file storage. Hosted in the United States.
Resend
Sends sign in codes, reminders, and digests to your email address.
OpenAI
Content moderation. Text and images posted to DEEDS are sent to a moderation classifier to detect material that must be blocked. Content is sent for classification only.
GitHub Pages
Serves the site itself.
Nothing is sold. We do not sell or share personal information for money, and we do not share it for cross context behavioural advertising. If that ever changes, we will tell you before it does, and give you a way to say no.

What other members see.

Your handle, your type if you have one, your bio, your public deeds and posts, your counts, and who you follow. Follows are public because DEEDS is anonymous, so a follow tracks a deed rather than a face.

Deeds you mark private are visible only to you. Your email address is never shown to another member. Organizations that register with real names and logos are the deliberate exception to the anonymity rule, and their participating members stay pseudonymous.

What you can do about it.

Every one of these works today, from inside the app.

See it
Your profile holds your record. Ask us and we will send you the rest.
Fix it
The Fix It. control edits your own words on anything you posted.
Delete it
Delete individual items, or delete your whole profile from your profile page.
Stop email
Set reminders to None, or unsubscribe from any message we send.
If you are in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what we hold, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be treated differently for asking. If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection. Write to privacy@deeds.fun and we will answer within the time the law allows.

How long we keep it.

Your content stays until you delete it or close your account. When you delete your profile we remove your account and your content, other than copies legitimately carried into another member's record and anything we must retain for legal or safety reasons.

Moderation records, including material that was blocked, are held longer so that we can act on repeat behaviour and meet reporting obligations.

Age.

DEEDS is for adults. You must be 18 or older to hold an account, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has an account, write to privacy@deeds.fun and we will remove it and delete what is attached to it.

Where schools take part in DEEDS, participating members must meet the same age requirement.

Security, and honesty about it.

Access is protected by one time codes rather than passwords, data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and row level security in the database restricts every read to what the viewer is entitled to see.

No service can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you.

Changes.

If we change this policy materially, we will say so on the site before the change takes effect. The date at the top always tells you which version you are reading.
