The rules of DEEDS, in plain language.
DEEDS is a place to record good you have done and to pass the idea along. Use it honestly. Do not put anyone at risk. Own what you write.
Everything below says the same thing in the language the law needs. It is worth a read, and it is short on purpose.
DEEDS is operated by Unilateral Good LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. Where these terms say we or us, that is who they mean. Where they say you, that means the person using the service.
DEEDS is a software product, not a charity. We do not solicit donations, we do not collect or hold contributions, and we do not distribute money to causes. Nothing on this site is a request for a charitable gift.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. DEEDS is not for children.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will remove it and delete the information attached to it.
One person, one personal account. Your handle is generated for you and is how the community knows you. Do not impersonate another member, and do not sell, rent, or transfer your account.
What you write stays yours. We do not claim ownership of your deeds, posts, photographs, comments, studies, or notes.
To show your work to anyone, we need permission to store it and display it. By posting to DEEDS you grant us a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free license to host, store, resize, encode, reproduce, and display your content for the purpose of operating and promoting the service. The license lasts as long as the content is on DEEDS, and it ends when you delete it, except for copies that other members legitimately carried forward.
That last part matters. When someone redeeds your deed or seconds your post, they take a copy of the words as they stood at that moment. Deleting your original does not reach into their record.
You are telling us that you have the right to post what you post. See the Community Guidelines for what that means in practice, particularly around photographs of other people.

Most content publishes immediately. We screen automatically as it goes up, and severe material is stopped before it appears. Everything else is reviewed after the fact, and anything that breaks the rules is taken down.
Repeated violations accumulate and can lead to a temporary suspension or a permanent removal. The full range of what we may do is set out under Enforcement in the Community Guidelines.
If we remove something of yours and you believe we were wrong, write to appeals@deeds.fun and a person will look at it again.
DEEDS keeps counts. Deeds logged, redeeds caused, network reach, organization totals. These are records of participation, not certified facts. We do not independently verify that a logged deed actually happened.
Organizations may register and be verified. Verification confirms that the organization is real and that the person who registered it is entitled to. It is not an endorsement, and it is not a statement about anything the organization does elsewhere.
Attempting to manipulate counts, invites, rankings, or campaign totals is grounds for removal of the account and the organization behind it.
If you believe something on DEEDS infringes your copyright, our Copyright Policy sets out how to send a notice and what it must contain. Notices go to copyright@deeds.fun.
We act on valid notices, remove the material, and tell the member who posted it. Members who repeatedly infringe lose their accounts.
You can delete your profile from your profile page at any time. That removes your account and the content attached to it, subject to the copies described above and to anything we are required to keep.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we may stop offering the service. If we shut DEEDS down, we will give notice and a way to take your record with you.
DEEDS is provided as it is and as available. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that anything on it is accurate. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non infringement.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Unilateral Good LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of DEEDS. Our total liability for any claim is limited to one hundred dollars.
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from content you post or from your breach of these terms.
Some states do not allow these limitations. Where that is true, they apply to you only as far as the law permits.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts sitting in Delaware, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will say so on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use DEEDS after that means you accept the updated terms.
If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still stands. Our not enforcing something once does not mean we have given it up.
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Community Guidelines, and the Copyright Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about DEEDS.
